What's the plan...

Update - November 2019

Well, that didn't go to plan!

​

In short....we are in the UK, but aiming for Europe where we want a bit more warmth and it to be a bit cheaper!

​

Original Plan

We made a rough plan and are following our noses.  We'll update this page as we travel.

​

18th January 2019 we boarded a plane from Christchurch, NZ to Auckland; another to Sydney; then to Kuala Lumpur and finally arrive in Kochi (Cochin) in India's Kerala State on 19th January.

​

India

We have 3 nights booked in a hotel in Fort Cochi and then we're in backpacking mode!

​

Roughly 1 month in Kerala

Then moving on to visit Agra and the Taj Mahal

Travelling through India to visit Delhi, 

Dharamshala (top left of India) and Darjeeling (top right)

​

Bhutan

Approx 1 week in Bhutan (guided tour)

​

Back into India and across to Nepal

​

Ideally moving through Nepal and into Tibet (or "China" to some)

​

Through to China to visit the Terracotta Warriors - not really sure what else yet in this vast country

​

Jump on Trans Mongolian Railway to journey from Beijing through Mongolia to Russia, ending in St Petersburg

​

No idea how long this will all take and what time of year this will be!

​

We'd like to explore Europe, visit the UK and Chris is keen to work in a ski resort (Helen is worried she'll only get a job cleaning toilets!!)

​

By this stage we will have well and truly run out of money - if not well before!

If anyone has any suggestions of where to go ('must sees') in these countries then we would love to hear from you.

​

After all this pure self-indulgent travel we'd like to do a volunteer abroad stint for a few months/couple years, so not sure where that will take us.

​

Ultimately our plan is to come home to Christchurch, NZ as we love it here.
